Whittaker Chambers, the man who brought down Alger Hiss and explained so much about Communist infiltration of the United States and who also played a great part in the formation of conservative thought in that country died fifty years ago today. This

There still are flat-Earthers. Therefore, there still are Alger Hisslings (see, for instance, the relentlessly Stalinist magazine "The Nation"). Both psychoses are likely to be around for some time.
